Last week, my airport express went from awesome (~80% signal strength to my iMac, great speed) to sucktacular (~5% signal strength, terrible speed, when it worked at all). An investigation revealed that a visitor had unplugged the airport, and had stuck it in a power bar between two brick power adaptors (one for the cable modem, and the other for the charging station for some wireless headphones). Obviously, the interference and shielding from those two angry spools of copper were causing the problem - a quick relocate to the original outlet restored my signal to its earlier levels. Dunno if you have the same problem, but if you do, its a quick fix :)

Maybe I'm getting old, but there doesn't seem to be any right now. :( All of the games I find interesting are being funneled/gimped to the 360, or the promising ones have been blah in general. The only game that my PC buddies got into, which I didn't for obvious reasons, was WoW, which of course is cross platform. Now that's all some of them play.
I haven't bought a PC game for a few years now. My PC Tower(s) are only on for a little bit of work these days.
What type of games do you like, I can ask my friends if they've found anything good at the moment, or if WoW is still consuming their lives? I've been gaming on PCs since the eighties and prior to this drout used ot game all of the time, mostly online and via LAN parties. And MS thinks we'll pay for services that are still free...
This is the only game (http://www.2kgames.com/bioshock/) I'm even remotely interested in playing. But I'm not hold my breath, since System Shock 2 and other games that uses a similar approach to the first one, kind of blew chuncks in comparison.

i still need more concrete clarification on whether to trademark or copyright the logo for my company...
No need to bother. You possess moral rights immediately upon its final form:
When is my work protected?
Your work is under copyright protection the moment it is created and fixed in a tangible form that it is perceptible either directly or with the aid of a machine or device.
Besides, to be frank, it's quite probable that your design will infringe on the copyright of others.

...does it fix yet another bug in Mac OS X Server's Wiki/Blog service that causes audio but not video to play back for Windows visitors?
Jeez Apple, get your QT **** together. For a company focused on media consumption, your media consumption software is really ******.

From the Apple.com Forums:
"OS X 10.3.6 says the following as one of it's improvements:
Improves ColorSync calibrating for Apple Cinema HD Display (23-inch DVI) displays."
A few reports in those forums say that indeed 10.3.6 did fix the pink tint problem for them.

That my 2008 iMac is one of the affected ones of the infamous 8800 GS card failures.
After gaming today, the computer completely locked up. Tried several reboots, but the computer just freezes and the screen flickers a little. The odd thing is though, that the mouse pointer still works.
I'm almost certain this is a gfx card issue because these model iMac's have been known to fail. The HDD was just replaced this year, so it can't be that.
The GPU temperature is around 150F...
Anyway, what do you think Apple will tell me? I bought this computer on December 25, 2009 so I still have one year and a half left on Applecare.

Basically you are freeing memory you did not malloc/calloc. Your double returnElement within the last loop is requesting space to store a double. This will be on the stack. You are not mallocing or callocing the space for this double (if you did it'd be in the heap). You then memcpy into this space (which is fine: you are allowed to do that). You then free the space that is on the stack. You can't do that. You can't free on the stack. That is automatically done when the current stack frame is popped.
If that doesn't make sense (if you don't know what the heap and stack are for example) it's time to learn basic C properly...

Hi all,
I invested in a D5000 about a year and a half ago to begin a new hobby. I was hoping to get opinions on if it would be worth it to try to make photography more than a hobby for me. I prefer nature, but would be willing to go for events maybe...I don't want to do portraits.
I've inserted some of my work from a photo camp below. Any advice/criticism would be greatly appreciated :-).

... really strange, because those doping accusations dont come from mere conspiracy, but from serious research on the side of the testing facility as much as from the journalist who uncovered his identity related to the positively tested probes. The DNA testing method is accurate, the EPO separation and testing is accurate, too, all scientifically waterproof to the roof.
He didnt do anything to prove them wrong, just some rhetorics in that regard, noisy patriotic screaming live on CNN.
Dont misunderstand me: I dont hate Armstrong, but to me his behaviour seems to be troublesome at the least. Indeed he did nothing serious, nor anything productive and helpful to falsify those completely fact based accusations. Those results arent made up by the french because they hate him.
Actually he behaves quite like Mariah Jones, e.g., or similar doping cases in the last few years. Something seems to be wrong, and probably not only in terms of the 1999 tour.
What do you think?

history will look back and focus on the day Apple got into bed with Intel as being the turning point for Apple computer sales. market share has been steadily on the rise since then.
The funny thing is that I'm one of those people that was convinced that once Apple was able to run Windows XP, I could buy a Mac. So, I bought one, loaded WinXP thru Bootcamp and the only time I use it is for my taxes.
I thought I'd need office, but it wasn't long before I just bought a copy of OfficeMac 2004 and I've never looked back. I haven't booted into XP since last Oct 15th. Go figger.

I am seriously considering camping out as I REALLY want one as soon as possible... Has anyone been at this location for a launch before? Is it pretty popular? I was hoping that maybe it wasn't as popular of an Apple store and that the lines would be shorter... that and I live in Oakland about 5 minutes away!

Hello. I just got an iBook G3 Clamshell from my Sister-In-Law, and I LOVE It. It is running OS 9.2 and I am curious to see the specs on this computer. I don't have much experience on OS 9. Lol. When I go to "about this computer" it says I have 96 mb. of built in memory. How much ram could I add to it, and what is the best OS on it? Could I dual boot it to run say OS 9.2.2(Current OS) and say OS 10.0. I think I can go up to 10.4.11 but I imagine that would be a painful experience. Basically if I can get some version of 10.xx I'd be a happy camper. Thanks guys!

Are you wanting just one world-editable article each week, or a few? I think having about 5 per week would be more advantageous since a single article represents such a small portion of the Guides, and we have enough people to watch over changes. There are only so many improvements that can be made to one article, so a week seems like a long time to focus on a single page. Take for example the Aperture article, which has only had one change in the last 6 days yet has been the only featured guide during that period.
Finally, would there be a set time each week for the article selection to change, and would it be just you or all the sysops choosing them? If the latter, would there be prior discussion as to which articles to select (eg in the WorldEdit talk page), or would sysops just add articles without consultation?
I think 5-7 articles a week would be great to have world-editable.
I think that Tuesday would be... a fitting day to change the guides. And talking about them first would be MUCH better than random addition. :)
(Yeah, this is an old thread, but I've been in Israel for the past 10 days...)

i am visiting apps that i bought via itunes and there is no any info there that i bought or not. So, if i format or change my mac then can i restore with that backed up folder?
There isn't really an indication on the iPhone or iTunes App Store, but if you click Buy, it will tell you that you already paid for this app and starts to download for free.
