The immigration system mirrors the economy, now we know it. H1B visas (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) are still available with more than 15,000 are up for grabs. The numbers are pretty much unchanged since late May.
As of August 14, 2009, approximately 45,000 H-1B cap-subject petitions and approximately 20,000 petitions qualifying for the advanced degree cap exemption had been filed. USCIS will continue to accept both cap-subject petitions and advanced degree petitions until a sufficient number of H-1B petitions (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) have been received to reach the statutory limits, taking into account the fact that some of these petitions may be denied, revoked, or withdrawn. We will keep you posted with any changes in this area.

I think if you are out of the country for 1 year u can get 3 yr extension. But you would get counted in the quota though,fresh H1, I think.

Dear attorney,
please help me understand my problem.
Through company A , My I 140 has been approved and have my 485 filed too ( i do not have the receipt number or the approval letter for the 140). I am still using the H1 from Company A
Can i move to Company B, on H1 transfer file Ac 21, and have perm and Labor approved through company B and then port the date of company A priority date
Without me having a proof of 140 approval will it be possible to port to the earlier date.
Or should i have company B file labor and 140 as a future employer have 140 approved then port it and move to employer B.

I got my DL reneul yesterday..there want any Visa question asked at all..??..Is texas not following DL reneual only untill your visa expiry date??..:confused:

I see thread for all other years (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007). So its my turn to open thread for my year.
Mine is EB2, Feb 2002. Still waiting. I was told that my NC is cleared.
3 SR, 2 letters to Ombudsman, letters to 3 senators, letters to 2 representatives, 2 fax to NSC, 2 letters to NSC Director, 1 infopass, numerous calls to NSC
Recently sent a letter to first lady. Looks like all of them are working together. Nobody wanted to respond.
Please feel free to write your experience if you are 2002 filer.

We filed our 485 on July 2nd 2007 at Nebraska office � EB3 � July 7, 2001
- The case was shifted to Texas and we received notices from Texas office with receipt date of August 27.
- Our date is now current however processing at Texas is still stuck at June 27, 2007.
- Does this mean our RD is now 08/27/07 even though it was recd. at Nebraska on 07/02/07??

No, it does not mean that it is approved.
A number is just File number for Alien, for USCIS record keeping/tracking purpose.

Animal portraits are my "thing", so I don't mean to be overcritical... Try to get the animal's face in the light. The rooster's a good subject, and you got down to rooster height, which is really good, and you got him when crowing - a great behavior. Unfortunately, the face is in shadow, and that means you don't get the "catchlight" sparkle in the eye. Also, you often don't get the eye quite in focus, since autofocus works on contrast. A lot of faults in a protrait can be overlooked if the eye is sharp. In this case, you're focused on the neck feathers, not quite on the eye, so if you can reshoot it, try for getting light in the eye, and I think you'll like the results even more.
