Great site, not unlike this one:- a lot of people who seem to enjoy a good barney every once in a while. Some N00bs, some real old hands, a good mix!
Been going there for a while. :D
For sure, bigblue's been none of the most helpful forums vie ever used.

MySpace always crashes for me and it gets really annoying. I was hoping for a fix a while ago, but it never came. :(

MyPhotoAlbum looks good, free, decent interface and access to full rez pictures. Only problems is that you can't use it to host images and it doesn't have any Mac upload tools so that is a bit slower. I can deal with the slow uploading and maybe I could use a free flickr account to host images to put directly in my blog. Not a big fan of mixing and matching but if I want to go the free rout I doubt I have a choice.
Thanks for the recommendations so far.

Daedalus256,
Any closer to a decision yet on parting out your machine ?
Just wondering, as it seems you have several interested potential buyers, like me :)

Importing from Europe would be even more interesting. But I'm not sure that most of the cars built for their consumption meet U.S. emissions and crash testing standards. Therefore, obtaining registration would probably be unduly difficult.
Of course, if you want to drive your diesel on a private race track, or just up and down your driveway (read: off of public thoroughfares), you'll have no trouble whatsover.

Do you use software for longer?
Are you using different software?
How often is often?
Are there any repeat offenders?
Are you doing different things now?
Your description is incredibly vague.
If applications are crashing, that may or may not have anything to do with Snow Leopard.
Nope

That doesn't happen for me. The scrolling continues as it should, even during the momentum phase of the scroll.
That's the way it used to be for me. I don't know when it broke or what might have caused it.

Whilst I appreciate that you have to have Ads on the site to generate revenue, there have been a few that pop up during the last few weeks with sound in them (I've attached an image of one such ad).
I actually make Flash based Ads from time to time and the guidelines are always clear that sound shouldn't be playing without either a rollover event or a user interaction.
I don't suppose you can removed/do something about these...they're really ruining my Pink Floyd.
Cheers!
Edit: Just seen another thread on this...sorry, I didn't check before posting.

I could never get pwnage to produce a working ipsw for my iPad 3G... so I took the iBSS & kernelcache (rename to zip and extract) from ..customrestore.ipsw for tetheredboot. make sure your iPad is running the Apple 4.3 and jailbreak using redsnow.. point to 4.2.1 ipsw, it will not boot, when it hangs blackscreen with a white square use tetheredboot and u have cydia... :)
That's pretty sneaky, gonna have to try that out!

I don't know about anyone else, but I find this image a little disturbing  . It looks good and is very well produced, but disturbing nonetheless. :o
Seemed like a good idea at the time... I guess I made it too literally (you are the apple in my eyes)

Well I don't turn it or my computer off either ;)
My iMac hasn't been off since I bought it in Sept 2010 and the keyboard is still on its original batteries - with 45% remaining.

Hey everyone, first post here, and also a Mac noob, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section :)
I am trying to enable file sharing in OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. I intend to share files on my MacBook with other Windows and Linux computers on my home network. From what I understand, the procedure is as follows:
1) Open up System Preferences and click on Sharing under Internet & Wireless
2) Click on File Sharing on the left, and then add a folder to be shared. After doing this, three Users appear on the right: System Administrator, Administrator, and Everyone (all have read/write access).
3) I want my folder to be password-protected and accessible only to specific users, so I change the permissions for Everyone to No Access. I then add a user (sharing only account) with a specified username and password.
4) I click on Options and select the "Share files and folders using SMB (Windows)", and enable SMB sharing for the user that I created in the previous step. I click on Done, and exit System Preferences.
After performing the above steps, I go to my Linux computer and attempt to connect to the shared folder on my Macbook. I was surprised to be able to access the folder without being prompted for a username and password. The same thing can be seen on my Windows computer.
I went back into Systems Preferences/Sharing on my MacBook, and noticed that the user that I had created has disappeared from the Users list, and all the permissions have been reverted to the default Read & Write Access (including Everyone, which I had changed to No Access earlier). I tried the above procedure again and still ended up with the same result.
Why are the user permissions not being saved? Has anyone here experienced a similar issue?

A big problem with the big megapixels is the amount of storage they take on your phone. You cannot adjust the megapixel size down with a phone camera like you can with a point & shoot camera. A 16 megapixel camera in a phone will not give you a better picture than a 5 megapixel camera in a phone. A phone just does not have the room to install a quality sensor.
Exactly, re: sensors. The amount of electricity-induced noise on a small 16MP sensor for a cell camera is going to render images fairly useless at large sizes (even 8.5x11 would doubtlessly require a lot of cleanup work.) For practical purposes, it may as well remain a 3MP sensor...
